This industry sector covers standards and publications relevant to transport by road, including areas such as traveller information alerts, automatic vehicle identification and road traffic noise reduction devices.
BSI has worked with specialist research firm Thatcham and other stakeholders, to develop a publication aimed at raising the standards of vehicle body repairs.
Publicly Available Specification (PAS) 125 sets down the requirements for vehicle body repair, including measures for the qualification of technicians, repair methods, materials and the machinery/equipment used. Applicable to all categories of repair work undertaken on cars and light commercial vehicles, PAS 125 will drive change through the industry and is set to become the industry standard for vehicle body repair.
