You are not allowed to adopt the BSI brand in any way shape or form, nor pass yourself or your organization off as BSI British Standards.

You are not permitted to use the BSI names or BSI logo in the header of any website or email communication.

You must not use the BSI name or BSI logo to sell other services that you have in your portfolio.  The BSI brand must only be used to sell British Standards and BSI products.

Q: Which BSI logo should I use?

BSI logo

The BSI Trade Mark must not be used without prior written permission.

BSI Group has several trademarks and logos relating to different divisions within the organization.  The logo that you need is the BSI Business Information logo as shown below.  This logo is associated with the BSI British Standards portfolio of products and services.  It is not the logo that describes the organization.

BSI Business Information logo

This logo is a registered logo and must be used in its entirety.  It must not be altered or manipulated in any way.

Whenever you use the logo you must use it according to the specification below.

The BSI Blue and BSI Yellow colour versions of the mark must be used whenever possible.

You may also use black only or BSI Blue only or if you have a dark background, you may use the logo as a negative i.e. white out of the dark background.

Make sure there is enough clear space around the logo.  This space should be the width of the “i” in BSI the whole way round the logo.

The shape and colour of the logo must not be altered.  You may size the logo but it must be sized proportionately.  It must not be stretched or condensed.

Do not use the BSI logo in a sentence in place of the letters BSI.  Just use normal typeface eg: “A distributor of BSI British Standards”.   When using the BSI acronym, all three letters must be capitalized.  When referring to a British Standard number the acronym used must be BS not BSi or BSI.

When using the BSI Business Information logo on your website you must ensure that you do not adopt it in the branding of your own site.  As mentioned, you must not use it to pass yourself off as BSI British Standards. You are not permitted to use the BSI names or BSI logo in the header of any website or email communication.

You must clearly state who you are and that you are a distributor of BSI British Standards.
