The Standard
BS EN 1279 is the European harmonised Standard for Glass in Building – Insulating Glass Units (IGUs), and is published in six parts.
Kitemark®
BSI Product Services offers the prestigious Kitemark® for IGUs to BS EN 1279. The Kitemark® offers an excellent way of demonstrating your commitment to quality as well as a route to demonstrating compliance with the Construction Products Directive. It also has the advantage of helping to differentiate products and is specified by organisations like the National House Building Council (NHBC) for IGUs going into windows for new homes.
CE marking
BSI is a Notified Body under the Construction Products Directive and can offer EN 1279 testing to support CE marking.
Test Facilities
BSI Product Services can offer a wealth of product testing experience and has one of the largest and most modern test facilities for BS EN 1279 in Europe. BSI also has UKAS accreditation for the following:
