Eurocodes

There are ten Eurocodes being published from 2002 to 2006, to replace most European national codes from 2007. Eurocodes will be used for European public works and are set to become the de-facto standard for the private sector - both in Europe and worldwide.

Here you will find background information on the Eurocodes, advice on implementation and the latest publication schedules.

Eurocodes are designed to:

  • help the European construction industry become more competitive
  • improve structural safety
  • harmonise construction standards in the private sector
  • enable designers to use more supporting guidance and software
  • be the primary reference for all users, advising them on the latest developments and training events.
